UniStay is a platform that connects students seeking accommodation with landlords offering student hostels in Kenya. The Service includes browsing hostel listings, making booking requests, messaging, reviews, and related features.
3. User Accounts
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain and update your account information to keep it accurate
- Keep your password secure and confidential
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
4. Student User Responsibilities
As a student user, you agree to:
- Only request bookings for genuine accommodation needs
- Respond promptly to landlord communications
- Honor confirmed bookings and pay deposits as agreed
- Provide honest and fair reviews of hostels and landlords
- Not misuse the messaging system for spam or harassment
5. Landlord User Responsibilities
As a landlord user, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your hostel listings
- Maintain your hostel to the standards described in your listing
- Respond promptly to booking requests and inquiries
- Complete the verification process before listing hostels
- Honor confirmed bookings and provide accommodation as agreed
- Not misrepresent your identity or hostel details
6. Bookings and Payments
Booking requests are not confirmed until the landlord approves them. Once approved:
- A reservation fee may be required to secure the booking
- Payment terms are as specified in the booking confirmation
- Cancellation policies apply as specified in the booking details
- Disputes will be handled according to our dispute resolution process
7. Reviews and Ratings
Users may submit reviews of hostels and other users. Reviews must:
- Be based on genuine experiences
- Not contain false, misleading, or defamatory content
- Not include personal attacks or harassment
- Comply with applicable laws and these Terms
We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Engage in fraud, spam, or harassment
- Interfere with the operation of the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use the Service for any purpose other than its intended use

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by UniStay and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute our content without our written permission.

11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:
- The accuracy or completeness of hostel listings
- The availability of any particular hostel or booking
- The quality or safety of any accommodation
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UniStay shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in Kenyan courts.
